Body Language Live at Brooklyn Bowl

I managed to catch Body Language for a bumpin’ show this past Labor Day weekend at Brooklyn Bowl. I snapped this video of their new track ‘Social Studies’ and was pleasantly surprised that the sound wasn’t blown out. BK Bowl is a huge venue, and as such, I think the sound gets a little muddy and some of the vocals seemed to get lost in the mix. That being said, Body Language put on an awesome show and I can’t wait to catch them at their next one.

New Body Language Track + EP on the Way!

One of the best drummers I’m fortunate enough to play with in Little Anchor and Circle Circle Dot, Ian Chang, also happens to be the drummer for the amazing electronic/pop/awesome band, Body Language.

Peep Body Language’s new jam, “Social Studies.” The track will see a release featuring remixes by Sepalcure, Hardmix and Two Fresh on August 31st. This song is infectious.

NEW MUSIC – We’re Making Noise

Here’s some new music from yours truly! Okay, not really… This song isn’t that new (in fact, almost two years old), but I hadn’t gotten around to plopping it anywhere. What follows is a really simple Kendrick Lo poppy electronic jam to get your feet moving. It only occurred to me, listening to it now, that the lyrics towards the end get a little criss-crossy and confusing. That being said, I think it’s a fun one. Enjoy!

Side notes on the makeshift “album art.” The two-year-old original is pictured on the right here and is butt-ugly. A much needed refresh was created with the beautiful typeface Chunk made available at the League of Moveable Type by its creator Meredith Mandel and an awesome paper texture created by Daniel Bashie Larsen, check him out at Bashcorpo.

Machinarium’s Music So Good

I did a review on the ridiculously cute czech puzzle/adventure game Machinarium last December. I thought I’d dedicate a post to the awesome music featured in the game. The game’s score is composed by Tomáš Dvořák, who happens to be a graphic artist as well. And… come on, he shares last names with famous Czech composer Antonín Dvořák.

This soundtrack is really beautiful, featuring a nice mix of electronic sounds with strings and so on. Here are two completely different tracks from the game. Machinarium is highly recommended, and when you order it you get the soundtrack free!
