Bun & Co – Cambodian Sammies

Bun & Co is a Cambodian sandwich shop in the Lower East Side (formally Kampuchea, which I personally believe was a pretty mediocre at best restaurant). Bun & Co is pretty much Num Pang except with a larger seating area.

Gao Di had the Coconut Tiger Shrimp (left) sandwich and I got the Ginger Barbecue Brisket (right). Both sandwiches are in the $8 dollar range and are definitely tasty. The shrimp sandwich had a great flavor but was a little small while the brisket was a good size and juicy and tender. Great bread on both sammies.

While I thought both sandwiches were pretty good it’s always hard for me to drop 8 bucks (wow, I’m so cheap – AND we used a Blackboard Eats passcode) on an asian sandwich when you know you can walk right over to Grand st. and grab yourself a delicious Banh Mi at Saigon Bakery for $3.75. When I eat at Saigon, my sensation of happiness is comprised of a delicious sandwich and a great value proposition which Bun & Co just doesn’t have.
